Lily Yeh, Art and the Children of Taiwan:
Brought to You by Your Curated Information Blog, Create and Be Well
I love Lily Yeh and her Barefoot Artist group. She is the co-founder of the Village of Arts and Humanities, which uses the arts as a means of community development and transformation. The Mei Hua Elementary School project in rural Taiwan, with its community involvement and use of the Awakening Creativity program is making a huge difference in the life of the children and the community. It is an important model for community and economic development that will be featured both in my book in progress “Shaping Lives, Transforming Communities: Creative Expression in the Dance of Life” and in a resource guide on the arts in the transformation of schools.
