     Two organizations I follow closely are Strong Towns and Projects for Public Places. Both aim at building resilient communities from within. Today’s story from the Boston Globe on Zumix in East Boston is a great example of the philosophy of both groups.

     Zumix is the brain child of local community activists who started by opening their home to offer after school opportunities for kids to engage fully in musical creativity. The program has grown over the years,making a huge difference in the lives of both the kids and communities.
