      The foundation of my book in progress Shaping Lives, Transforming Communities: Creative Expression in the Dance of Life is that all human development emerges from the intersections among playing, making, and knowing. Children need time for play and exploration outdoors, time that is unfortunately too restricted or not there at all for most kids today.
