     The foundations of all human development lie in the interactions among playing, making, and knowing. These are the roots of my book in progress Shaping Lives, Transforming Communities: Creative Expression in the Dance of Life. Play is essential from children’s earliest years and we will pay dearly for the current education system that ignores the central importance of play for inappropriate structure and control.
