The Crucial Role of Sleep in Child and Adolescent Development:
Brought to You by My Curated Information Blog, Create & Be Well
One of things that always drives me crazy is that we have good research about what matters in child and adolescent development and we pay absolutely no attention to it when we structure our schools. An excellent example of this is that we start classes for adolescents too early in the morning. The truth here is that we are afraid to upset the athletic programs! Quite frankly, I consider this child abuse. Today’s post is an update about important research on the impact of lack of sleep on the developing brains of young people.
“Sleep deprivation affects children’s brains differently than adults, a new study from the University Hospital of Zurich shows.”
