Small towns seldom attract attention except for negative happenings. We need to pay more attention to those small towns that have important lessons to offer in developing healthy communities and fostering resilience. Carlisle, Pennsylvania and Traverse City, Michigan are examples of small towns that are flourishing and can offer good ideas for other communities. I follow the nonprofit organization Strong Towns and both of these communities are winners in their search to identify the best of small town America.
