I have long been fascinated with exploring ways of seeing, knowing, and understanding. For me the camera has been one way to do this, especially through focusing intensively on an object or view and afterwards using color or the shaping power of black and white to delve more deeply into its essence. Today’s post introduces a wonderful new compilation of images of the contours and shapes of plants by Karl Blossfeldt. Thanks to Hyperallergic for sharing this.

The featured images are from my own series of intense black and white portraits of nature.
