          One of the major areas of wellness and the arts I am following in my research is the use of the arts in the rehabilitation of prisoners. One of the small lights in the darkness of current incarceration policies in the US is the expanding use of education and the arts in shaping a policy of rehabilitation rather than simply punishment. California is the state leading in this direction, although there is still much to do there as well. Today’s post offers you an in-depth look at the work created by prisoners in San Quentin, one of the most infamous of California’s prisons. I hope it will get you thinking about the potential and importance of prison rehabilitation.
