     The healing power of music is a recurring theme in my book in progress, “Shaping Lives, Transforming Communities: Creative Expression in the Dance of Life. I have included information about the Music and Memory program established by Dan Cohen in many posts. Over the last several months, as a result of the documentary Alive Inside, more nursing homes and assisted living facilities are aware of and implementing the program for their patients with dementia.

     This post shares the story from Texas Standard of how Hill Country Senior Care is offering the Music and Memory program to its seniors. Letting people know about the possibilities for renewing the lives of those with dementia through music is very important. These programs also help families to reconnect with loved ones.
